Uprise Stories #9 - Consultant By Day, Entrepreneur By Night - Caroline Dupont.
This episode, we talk to Caroline Dupont - a successful consultant who's always had an urge to explore the world of entrepreneurship.
Now, she's working on her venture alongside her role as a consultant to build a concierge service for everyone.
Her mission is to give people back valuable time, so they can spend longer doing the things they really love
In our interview, she shared 3 key things she's learned from pursuing an entrepreneurial path -
1. In entrepreneurship, you have to know yourself first
Having a deep understanding of what drives you, what's important to you and what you want is essential as an entrepreneur before pursuing your idea.
You need to understand your intrinsic motivations and know the 'personal' side of you, before you can take action on the 'professional' side of you so you have a clear sense of direction.
2. Remember the big picture
In reality, it's uncomfortable to be working on something entrepreneurial while still having a day-to-day job - working late nights and sacrificing 'free time'.
However, Caroline says that remembering that what she's doing is giving her more than it's taking helps her to stay motivated - knowing that she's learning, that in a few months she'll have something ready to launch and will be closer to where she wants to be.
3. Entrepreneurship can also be applied to your personal life
Learning to look at the big picture, accepting the ups and downs and being comfortable with the 'unknown' are all part of a mindset and skillset that can be applied to your personal life as well
So, regardless of the outcome, the mindset you develop as an entrepreneur is invaluable.
