Uprise Stories #7: Finding A Meaningful Path Through Connecting People, Francesco Perone

Full Time Engineer To Purpose Driven Side Hustler

This episode, we talk to Francesco Perone, who's pursuing his journey to a more meaningful path by setting up his own project while still working full-time as an engineer.

After realising his current life was missing a higher purpose, Francesco has set out on a journey to find what is meaningful to him

Now, his project aims to connect people to those who are where they want to be, to seek inspiration, advice and guidance.

We talk about his path to finding what's meaningful to him and stepping into the unknown.

Here are his 3 top tips for anyone looking to find more meaning in their life...

1. It's more than a project, it's a lifestyle

Francesco says that as well as working on a project which has meaning to him, it's also important to live your whole life in way that aligns with the person you want to be.

Things like eating healthily, exercising, practising mindfulness and meditation, and making time for things he loves to do every day all help to keep him motivated, feeling positive and like his best self.

2. Make the best decision you can at the time

Mistakes and failure are inevitable.

But rather than letting the fear of making a mistake keep you from moving forward, Francesco recommends to just make the best decision that you can at that moment in time - and take action on it.

Even if it wasn't exactly the right thing to do, you will learn something new and learn what you should have done instead to keep moving forwards.

3. Adopt a curious mindset

When faced with doings something new, Francesco adopts a curious mindset and is excited to learn something new - rather than being worried about not being good enough.

Allowing yourself to be a beginner and seeing things as an opportunity to learn a new skill is a great way to take action on new ideas without the fear of failure or judgement.
